USDA NIFA Equipment Grant Award

The MSU Flow Cytometry Core Facility has received a USDA National Institute of Food & Agriculture (NIFA) Equipment Grant Program (EGP) award to purchase a new cutting-edge benchtop analyzer. This grant supported the purchase of a new Attune CytPix. Training and use of this instrument is FREE to MSU investigators through December 2023 due to USDA grant support.

ThermoFisher Scientific Attune CytPix Flow Cytometer w/ CytKick Max Autosample

Features:

  • Optics: ≥14 Fluorescent Parameters across 4 lasers (405nm, 488nm, 561nm, & 637nm
  • Fluorescent Sensitivity: ≥ 30 fluorescent molecules
  • Acoustic Focusing: 35,000 events/s without data loss
  • CytKick Max Autosampler: 22 minutes to run a full 96-well plate
  • Supports a variety of plates and microfuge tubes
  • Brightfield Imaging: – Automated image analysis (≥ 25 parameters)
  • Correlate image parameters (e.g., Area, Shape, Entropy) with fluorescent parameters

As this instrument was purchased through a USDA Equipment Grant Program, it is required that all publications reference the grant award. Suggested verbiage is as follows:

The Attune Cytpix, located in the MSU Flow Cytometry Core Facility, is supported by the Equipment Grants Program, award #2022-70410-38419, from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA).
